Welcome to Professional Counselling

Professional Counselling's Director, Gerry Farrell, provides in-service training to schools, hospitals, nursing homes and other major organisations.

His Employee Assistance Programmes covers a wide range of issues including addictions, stress and bereavement.

He has lectured on the subject of Psychiatry and Counselling at Trinity to psychotherapy students and was a tutor at Trinity College Dublin on the Diploma in Counselling course.

He has lectured at the Institute of Technology Sligo in Applied Social Care on the Social Studies course and is a tutor for NUI Maynooth on the Certificate in Addictions studies.

In November 2004 he was presented with a “Special Recognition Award” by John Hume on behalf of the Alzheimer's Society Ireland for his “contribution to the competency of staff and volunteers through his training programmes for the society over the years”. A qualified psychiatric nurse, a qualified and fully accredited counsellor, as well as a graduate of TCD, he has over thirty years' clinical, counselling and lecturing experience. He was recently involved in facilitating teachers nationwide for the delivery of the new SPHE programme in second level schools.

Gerry provides counselling, facilitation and training services to a wide variety of statutory and voluntary bodies including staff of the HSE.
