Death: The Human Condition and Spirituality
Bereavement Boundaries and the Journey Towards Death
Course Duration - One Day
Rationale
This workshop is designed to explore the phenomenon of death and coping with death while working in the caring professions. Caring for and relating to someone who is going to die can be a surreal experience. Professional and voluntary carers are often caught in a bind between relating to and caring for the dying person and yet needing to protect themselves from the inevitable loss when it happens. This choice need not be so stark when death is viewed from the perspective of the actualising tendency of all humans. The workshop is designed also to help the relatives of those approaching death.
